Atelier and the Management Portal

Some file types and application types require that you use Atelier in conjunction with the Management Portal. You can open the Management Portal from the Server Explorer context menu.

BPL/DTL

You can view and edit classes that use Business Process Language (BPL) and Data Transformation Language (DTL). Atelier provides a dual mode editor that lets you edit both source code and a graphic view. See Working with BPL and DTL. You can also access these editors from the Management Portal.

Business Rules

You can use the Atelier editor to view and edit source code for classes that involve business rules. To view and edit the graphical view, you must use the Management Portal:

  1. From the Management Portal home page, navigate to Ensemble > Build > Business Rules.
  2. Open the Rule Assistant.
  3. Open an existing rule or create a new one using the controls on the top left bar.
  4. Save your changes.

To manage the files in source control from Atelier, you need to synchronize changes you have made on the server to a project in the workspace.

If the file is already in a project:

  1. Once changes have been made to the server, the file in your local workspace should be marked as out of sync.
  2. Synchronize the file to pull server changes to the local file.

If the file is not yet in a project:

  1. Copy it from the server via the Server Explorer view, using the Copy to Project command. See Copy to Project.
  2. Find the appropriate connection.
  3. Open the appropriate namespace.
  4. Navigate to the rules class.
  5. Right-click the name of the class and select Copy to Project.
  6. Submit the new file to source control.

Lookup Tables

You can view, edit, and export lookup tables on the Management Portal.

  1. From the Management Portal home page, navigate to Ensemble > Configure > Data Lookup Tables.
  2. Use control buttons on top left bar to open an existing table or create a new one.
  3. Press the Export button to export to source control.
  4. Use your source control client to add/modify version in source control.

HL7 Schemas

You can view, edit, and export HL7 schemas on the Management Portal.

  1. From the Management Portal home page, navigate to Ensemble > Interoperate > HL7 v2.x > HL7 v2.x Schema Structures.
  2. Select schema to view from left navigation table OR press New button to create custom schema.
  3. Press Export button to export to source control.
  4. Use your source control client to add/modify version in source control.

Note: HL7 support is currently provided by a distributed plug-in called Eclipse Modeling Framework (EMF). There are a number of additional Eclipse projects which may also apply. However, using these tools would not allow for changes to be saved on the server.
