Java, .NET, C++, and ActiveX

Caché security provides the following features for Java, .NET, C++, and ActiveX applications that connect to Caché:

  1. Authorized access to Caché. You can control user access to Caché using the Caché security authorization mechanisms. With these mechanisms you can control whether or not a user can connect to Caché through one of the above types of applications. You can also control the types of actions that a user can perform once connected to Caché. For more information on authorization mechanisms, read Authorization: Controlling User Access in the About Caché Security section of the Caché Security Administration Guide.

  2. Role escalation. You can provide role escalation using privileged routine applications. The procedure is identical to that described in the preceding section of this tutorial.
