Operating System Based Authentication
With Operating System based authentication Caché retrieves the user's operating system identity and verifies that it matches a Caché user name. Operating System based authentication can only be used with Local Caché services. In such situations both the user and Caché share a process. Here are the relevant services:
-
%Service_Terminal: UNIX®. Controls Terminal.
-
%Service_Console: Windows. Controls Terminal.
-
%Service_CallIn: With this service Operating System based authentication is available only when directly invoking calls on Caché from an operating system level prompt. Programmatic use of this service can only use unauthenticated access.
