Performance, Scalability, and Reliability

Caché is unique in that it implements Web Services natively within its database engine. This means that Caché offers extremely high performance for Web Services that make heavy use of database operations (which is pretty much all of them!).

Scalability is another important concern for Web Services. Scalability is not simply the ability to support lots of users; true scalability means that you can easily build applications that work equally well for small- and large-scale deployments with little additional effort. Caché's small footprint and distributed database architecture give you the flexibility to economically deploy small systems as well as large systems using a common code base. Caché Web Services can run on a wide variety of platforms and operating systems, giving you maximum deployment flexibility.

Reliability is also important. A Caché Web Service has a lot fewer “moving” parts than other, more complex, solutions. This gives your applications the high availability required for Web Services.
