Organizing and Deleting Queries (2.12)
Over time, you may accumulate many managed queries. Some of these queries may be redundant or unused and can be deleted, while others can be grouped for easier organization and findability. Queries in groups are listed alphabetically, followed by any ungrouped queries. Within each group, queries are also listed alphabetically.
Deleting a Query
To delete a query:

Click the Data Catalog
icon in the application menu.

If the query is in a group, expand that group.

Click the Menu
icon next to the
query name. -
Click Delete.

Click Delete Query to confirm. After deletion, the query name is displayed with a strikethrough.
When you delete a query, it can still be recovered. To delete a query so that it is no longer recoverable, see Permanently Deleting a Query.
Recovering a Query
You cannot use a deleted query until it is recovered. To recover a query that was previously deleted:

Click the Menu
icon next to the
query, or query group, name. -
Click Recover. The query name is no longer struck through.
The query is immediately restored and available for use.
Permanently Deleting a Query
When you delete a query, it can be recovered. To remove the query permanently so it cannot be recovered, do the following:

Click the Filter icon
. A menu appears. -
Click Show Deleted Groups and click Apply. Your deleted queries and query groups appear.

Click the Menu
icon next to the
query (or query group) name. -
Click Permanently Delete.

Click Delete to confirm.
Creating a Query Group
To create a query group:

Click the Data Catalog
icon in the application menu.
-
Click Query Management.
-
Click New group.
-
Type a unique group name and press Return (or click the check mark).
Renaming a Query Group
To rename a query group:

Click the Data Catalog
icon in the application menu.
-
Click Query Management.
-
Click the Menu
icon next to the
query group name. -
Click Rename.

Type the new name and press Return (or click the check mark).
The new name must be unique.
Deleting a Query Group
To delete a query group:
-
Click the Data Catalog
icon in the application menu.
-
Click Query Management.
-
Click the Menu
icon next to the
query group name. -
Click Delete.

Click Delete Group to confirm.
When you delete a query group, it can still be recovered. To delete a query group so that it is no longer recoverable, see Permanently Deleting a Query Group.
Recovering a Query Group
When a query group has been deleted, you will not be able to act on it until it is recovered. To recover a query group that was previously deleted:

Click the Filter icon
. A menu appears. -
Click Show Deleted Groups and click Apply. Your deleted queries and query groups appear.

Click the Menu
icon next to the
query group name. A Group recovery options dialog
box appears. -
Choose a recovery option.

Click Submit.
The query group is immediately restored and available for use.
Permanently Deleting a Query Group
When you delete a query group, it can be recovered. To remove the query group permanently so it cannot be recovered, do the following:

Click the Filter icon
. A menu appears. -
Click Show Deleted Groups and click Apply. Your deleted queries and query groups appear.

Click the Menu
icon next to the
query group name. -
Click Permanently Delete.

Click Delete to confirm.
