Demonstration Overview

The next several pages provide a hands-on demonstration of creating an HL7 data transformation. In this demonstration, we will create a data transformation that changes a Patient's ID number in an Order Message. In the demonstration you will do all of the following:

• Choose Document Types for the source and target messages.

• Add a Set action to the Target Message.

• Add an If action to the source that conditionally adds a Set action to the target.

• Test the resulting transformation.

• Add the transformation to an existing Business Rule in a Message Router.

• Test the Production by showing that an input message is transformed.
