Admin Tools (2.11)
InterSystems Data Fabric Studio™ provides tools that you can use to reset tasks and to view system log files.
Compacting Data
To maintain system health or free up disk space, you can use the Compact button in the System Information tool. This action reclaims space used by database files. To compact a database:
-
Click the Management
icon in the application menu.
-
In the Admin Tools section, click System Information.
-
Click the Disk Usage tab.
-
In the Databases table, click Compact in the row for the database you want to clean up. The system performs a COMPACT operation, followed by a TRUNCATE.
-
Monitor the Compact Status column to see the status of the operation. If an error occurs, a popup displays the error message.
Resetting Tasks
If a recipe or a snapshot appears to be hung, but you know that it is not actually hung, you can reset it so that you can try again to run it. To do so:
-
Click the Management
icon in the application menu.
-
In the Admin Tools section, click Reset Resources.
-
For Choose a task to reset, click the name of a recipe or snapshot.
The page then shows the current status of this item.
-
Click Reset in the last column in the table.
-
Click Reset to confirm.
Viewing Log Files
When working with your InterSystems support team, you may be asked to display log files and look for specific kinds of information. To view system log files:
-
Click the Management
icon in the application menu.
-
In the Admin Tools section, click Log Files.
The page then lists the existing log files.
-
To view a log file, click Open Log in the last column in the table.
-
Use the buttons at the bottom of the page to display different parts of the log.
The details of these log files are beyond the current scope of the documentation.
Viewing System Information
The System Information tool provides an overview of your environment, including current disk usage and active SQL statements. You can use this tool to monitor system activity or gather details to share with InterSystems support.
-
Click the Management
icon in the application menu.
-
In the Admin Tools section, click System Information.
-
Click the Disk Usage or Current SQL Statements tabs to view your current system information.
