About SDA
SDA (Summary Document Architecture) is an InterSystems format used to represent patient data. SDA is the intermediary format when transforming healthcare data from one format to another. For example, if you need to convert patient data from CDA to FHIR®, InterSystems products use XSLTs to convert the data from CDA to SDA, then use DTLs to convert the data from SDA to FHIR. For more information about how InterSystems IRIS for Health™ and HealthShare® Health Connect use SDA to transform data, see Data Transformations in InterSystems Healthcare Products (if the title is not a link, click hereOpens in a new tab to go to the IRIS for Health documentation).
The SDA format can be customized and extended as needed.
