Operating System Based Authentication

With Operating System based authentication InterSystems IRIS retrieves the user's operating system identity and verifies that it matches an InterSystems IRIS user name. Operating System based authentication can only be used with Local InterSystems services. In such situations both the user and InterSystems IRIS share a process. Here are the relevant services:

  • %Service_Terminal: UNIX® . Controls the Terminal.

  • %Service_Console: Windows. Controls the Terminal.

  • %Service_CallIn: With this service Operating System based authentication is available only when directly invoking calls on InterSystems IRIS from an operating system level prompt. Programmatic use of this service can only use unauthenticated access.
