InterSystems IRIS™ provides the capabilities to implement a REST service that can be invoked from a REST call.
REST, which is named from “Representational State Transfer,” has the following attributes:
To implement a REST service in InterSystems IRIS, you must extend the abstract class %CSP.REST. For details, see the next chapter. InterSystems IRIS also provides support for discovering REST APIs in an InterSystems IRIS server, as well as for generating specifications for them; see Documenting and Discovering REST APIs with API Management.”
